We also included several options from major hotel chains in case you're looking for the best place to spend those credit card points on a free stay.School trips must be booked at least three weeks in advance. Of course, a nearby hotel can offer other benefits, including more affordable rates, and many of them (including the six we've listed below) are still within walking distance or a short drive of all the Disneyland fun. Personally, I almost always stay on property because I love being immersed in the "Disney bubble" when I visit. They also offer Disney-themed experiences you won't find at non-Disney hotels (think: character breakfasts and hidden Mickeys in the decor), and exclusive perks like early theme park entry. These hotels are close to the Disney theme parks - Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park - and Downtown Disney, a shopping and dining complex just outside the park gates. There are three on-property Disneyland hotels - the Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel (soon to become the Pixar Place Hotel), and Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
